DaiJa Turner – South Korea Experience
During my time here in Asia I’ve learned a lot about the different outlets of basketball. Evaluating and scouting talent extends further than local talent. One area is the international school scene. Many are surprised to hear there are Americans, European, and Australians, etc. are living in Asia. From East to South East Asia you will find a number of expats (as we are called) over here.
Many of the students do not stay on and attend University in their respective countries they are currently residing in. Some with aspirations to play collegiate sport make their way over / back to America to increase their chances of being recruited whilst some make the transition to programs straight from their high school.
DaiJa is one player that has made the transition back to America earning attention/offers from schools in the ACC, Big 12 and CAA.
Below DaiJa shares her experience in  S.Korea and transition to American high school basketball.Â
