March Madness

UConn v NC State Elite 8 Matchup, NCAA March Madness – Here are some of my observations from the double OT game down the stretch starting late in the 4Q that both players and coaches need to be aware / prepare for in closely contested games. Watch game below click here 

• Team execution in late game situation  – offensive and defensive strategy, understanding time, score and needs (2pts v 3pts, who needs the ball in their hands)
• Individual skill set – foul shooting down the stretch, making a basket, mental challenge of situation (next play approach)
• Coaches game management – preserving timeouts for late game situation, use of timeouts, strategic substitutions, defensive and offensive strategy
