As I continue to work on the data project, “Girl’s Basketball – Is The Game Growing?” I’ve found myself asking, what should this report look like? Who is the target audience? How indepth should the analysis be based on the data available without boring audience?

I’ve done some searching to see what other reports I can refer to as an example and found SportAus Basketball State of Play Report (April 2019).

“The State of Play Report has been designed to has been designed to deliver a single sport snapshot, to help identify trends and opportunities to maximise participation and engagement.”

Here are a few great insights I found in the report;

• Conversion of participation to organized and club
• Participation levels by population groups
• Basketball spend levels
• Forecasted market outlook and opportunities

As I continue to work backwards from my main question, “Is The Game Growing?” the SportAus report has sparked some interesting considerations. Great work Australia and thank you!
