FIBA U18 3×3 Asia Cup hosted teams from the region over 3 days in Cyberjaya, Malaysia August 22-24.

Australia – Adding another gold to the collection with 2 players in the recruiting class of 2020 and 1 in the 2022 class. Their closest contest of the event came against the Philippines in the semi-finals where they won 15-12. They met Japan in the final matchup which wasn’t much of a game as previous matchups between these 2 teams in the past (FIBA Asia Championships).

Philippines – With an impressive run in the event Gilas secured the bronze medal with 2 domestic university players (National University) and 2 HS players – one player which is based in the USA playing for the New Jersey Sparks. Their run to bronze included wins over New Zealand (11-9) and upsetting China in the bronze medal game (14-11).

New Zealand – The Kiwis we’re lead to a  5th place by their 4 guards in the 2020/21 class. After edging India in a close matchup they lost to a solid Filipino team in a close 9-11 encounter.

India – 6’1 2022 prospect led the team in PPG to a 7th place finish alongside another 2019 Indian  commit. India got off to a strong start in pool play going 3-0 before running into New Zealand and China where they dropped their last 2 games of the event.
